How Is Our Financial Plan Like Crafting a Quilt?
Just as crafting a quilt begins with imagining the finished piece, planning for financial success starts with picturing your desired outcome. Whether you're choosing fabric for a quilt or setting financial goals, it all begins by visualizing what you want to achieve and mapping out the steps to get there.
Throughout both quilting and working toward financial goals, unexpected challenges may arise. In quilting, this could mean undoing stitches to correct a mistake; in your financial journey, it might be an unforeseen event, such as a car accident, that disrupts your progress. Both situations require patience and a willingness to adjust your plan so you can get back on track.
Despite the bumps along the way, having a clear plan provides direction and helps you overcome obstacles. Just as following a quilting pattern guides you to a beautiful finished quilt, a solid financial plan keeps you focused, enabling you to handle setbacks and avoid many pitfalls. What is an AFC?
An AFC is an Accredited Financial Counselor. Every AFC goes through a rigorous educational certification program overseen by the AFCPE®. This includes 1000 hours of practical experience working with clients. We ensure that each client has the information and confidence to achieve lasting financial well-being. We are counselors, coaches and educators who provide strategies to help individuals and families understand and manage their money. They guide you through earning, spending, saving and debt management.
What is NOT an AFC?
AFCs are not salespeople. We don’t sell insurance, securities products such as mutual funds or stocks or accounting services.
